Year-Round Veteran's Memorial Park

Enjoy our patriotic tribute to those who have served or are currently serving in the military at our beautiful Veteran's Memorial Park on the Town Square. This historic site boasts our bell tower which is ringing again since repairs were made to the 1917 bell and the clock, which survived the 1968 tornado.

March - Sell It Again on Highway 10
For a few days in March, from Ola to Hackett, we invite you to “Sell It Again on Highway 10” That’s over 75 miles worth of deals!
April - Greenwood Car Show
April is time for our Annual Car Show on the Town Square, and with over 100 awards and door prizes, you certainly don't want to miss this exciting event!
Show organizers expect as many as 200 entries with cash and other prizes awarded in several show categories. This is an open car show which means anything from motorcycles to late model vehicles are welcome.
The Greenwood Auto Show is a non-profit organization and all proceeds are used for scholarships and other charitable donations including Focus on Greenwood which purchases Christmas gifts for elderly citizens.

May - Art & History in Greenwood
The first Friday and Saturday in May, the Alpha Delta-ESA Organization, in conjunction with the South Sebastian County Historical Society, holds its traditional Airing of the Quilts at the Ed Wilkinson Pavilion at Bell Park in Greenwood, where there will be a Special Exhibit, Silent Auction, vendors, and lunch in Miss Sue’s Tea Room. Enjoy the beautiful cedar structure with vistas of Mount Magazine in the distance- the perfect showcase for the quilters art!
Come visit Greenwood’s Old Jail Museum Complex, open May-September, Friday and Saturday, 11-3. Call the Curator for off hour tours at 479-414-5324. So much to see and learn about our local history!
Greenwood Golf Tournament
Join us as we team up to play at our Annual Golf Tourney... there'll be lots of food, fun, and refreshments. The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce sponsors this tournament and all proceeds from the tournament are used to help the Chamber with its annual projects.

The Vache Grasse Golf Course & Recreation is a challenging 18 Hole Golf Course with many beautiful vistas. The facility also has a Swimming Pool and Community Room.

July 4th - Annual 5K Race & Freedom Fest
A long-standing tradition in Greenwood is the Annual Freedom Fest on the Square on July 4th each year. The community-wide old fashioned picnic and games begins early in the morning with a Pancake Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge and the Chamber's Freedom 5K Run. There are winners of all ages during the Annual Freedom 5K run. Hundreds of people come each year to run in this fun spirited event. Check the Chamber Event Calendar for exact event times.
Following the run, the Square is filled with music, games and food booths, and fun!
People of all ages enjoy the day, especially the opportunity to visit with friends and meet visitors and new comers to the town. We end the night with a fireworks display that will live in your memory for a lifetime! Freedom Fest has earned a reputation of family entertainment. No alcohol is allowed and food booths are sponsored by non-profit organizations.
This event is made possible by donations of money and time by Greenwood area businesses, Greenwood's A&P Commission, and the City of Greenwood.
August - Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
August is a time we honor our extremely hard-working, teachers and staff within the Greenwood school District at our Teachers Appreciation Luncheon just days before the school year begins. Our community is blessed to have such an amazingly talented group of individuals to work with our children and make a positive imprint on their lives each year.
It's wonderful how our businesses get together, sponsoring tables of 8 each, and showing our entire District how much we appreciate their impact on our future generations. Just another reason to love Greenwood!
Fall & Winter
October - Fall Festival - Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet - Halloween on the Trail
The first Saturday in October, Greenwood kicks off the change of seasons with our Annual Fall Festival with an enormous amount and variety of vendors and activities at Bell Park. Come enjoy the arts, crafts and entertainment for all.
One of the highlights of the year is the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet in October. The Banquet gives members and potential members an opportunity to get together and recognize achievements earned throughout our community, award our Citizen of the Year, and enjoy a delicious meal, as well as meet the new Board of Directors.
Halloween on the Trail in Greenwood is an exciting event that our city, police, emergency, and fire departments all take a part in to ensure a safe, fun, memorable Halloween for our children. You don’t want to miss this!
November - Holiday Open House & Trail of Lights
Everyone enjoys our Holiday Open House in November and finding those “must have” treasures for their loved ones. Greenwood welcomes you to come visit our beautiful bedroom community with a large variety of boutiques and general shopping. You’ll be sure to get those items checked off HIS and HER lists!
Holiday Trail of Lights begins the weekend of Thanksgiving at Bell Park and runs thru to the end of December. The trail is lined with THOUSANDS of brilliant LED lights on display and several events are scheduled at the Ed Wilkinson Pavilion at Bell Park throughout the month of December.
December - Christmas Parade & 5K Yule Run
In the early part of December, one of the largest Christmas Parades in the entire River Valley takes place in Greenwood. Thousands of people turn-out for the evening. This is more than just a typical Christmas parade with a few floats and Santa Claus.
Prior to the parade, the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce hosts its traditional "Bean Feed" where we serve, free of charge, over 50 pounds of deliciously prepared ham and bean soup with homemade cornbread. The parade, brightly lit, travels down Main Street and has consisted of more than 80 entries. Santa is always on hand and ready to visit with children after the parade when he makes his infamous arrival on the Fire Truck!
Greenwood holds our Annual 5K Yule Run the 2nd Saturday in December. The participants of this event come dressed in their most festive, unique, holiday attire and several awards are presented in a variety of categories.
